Mr. Dave Yonamine
Co-founder, Chairman of the Board, and former CEO
Thursday, April 14
10:45am - 12:00noon
Born and raised in Hawaii, Mr. Yonamine majored in electrical engineering at the University of Hawaii at Manoa (where he also performed economic research on tourism spending in Hawaii and was published in the Journal of Travel Research). He completed his Masters degree in electrical engineering at Standford University and settled in Mission Viejo, California. He founded Upstanding Systems - a software development company that produced a product that improved computer networking - out of his dining room in 1990, which was doubling annual revenue through 2000. In 2003, Mr. Yonamine co-founded MobilityWare, which initially focused on mobile device management. However, MobilityWare later moved into the mobile app development space and released a suite of games when the Apple Store first launched in 2008. Their Blackjack and Poker games are immensely successful, sitting among the Top 100 free games with over 250 million downloads. Upstanding-turned-MobilityWare recently celebrated its 25th anniversary in a highly competitive field with a company retreat on the Big Island. Mr. Yonamine continues to recruit among the top talent in the nation and to share insight at developers' conferences worldwide.
