The Western Pacific Fishery Management Council is considering a change to the current 3-pound size limit of the commercial and non-commercial `ahi fisheries. The video above was created by the Council to help communicate data and other relevant information presented to the Council that will weigh in their final recommendation.

Western Regional Pacific Fishery Management Council
Mitsuyasu was born and raised in Ewa Beach, Oahu. He holds a Masters of Science in Marine Resource Management with a minor in Resource Economics from Oregon State University. In his 20-year career with the Council, he has worked on development of fishery management policies for U.S. fisheries in the Pacific Island region under the authority of the Magnuson Stevens Fishery Conservation and Management Act. In doing so, he has extensive experience working with Federal and State government fishery agencies, academia, non-government agencies, private businesses, community fishing groups, and cultural advisers throughout Hawaii, Guam, American Samoa, and the Northern Mariana Islands.
